Because Momma Gets what Momma Wants

Attic Gal Rachelle says:

My mom's birthday was Monday, and since she was not shy in her admiration of the Pretty apothecary jar I gave my dear friend Shari for her birthday, I took her very subtle hint, and made her one, only I took it to the next level.

But first, this is the happy spring card I made her.  I used SU's carousel notes that I pierced and embossed dots using the brass template and the Crop-a-dile.  Then I cut a circle of pretty double sided paper, and folded over one side to made a pocket, which I attached with silver flower brads from the Hodgepodge Hardware.  It's hard to see, but I punched a green small oval out to put behind the little silver frame thingy.

I stamped up the insert and the envelop with my favorite little birdie from the Always set.  I just love this card!  It is so totally ME, only it would be more me if had it been pink. Pretty pretty pretty!

The apothecary jar I found for Mom at HomeGoods is tall and curvy (just like her! kidding!)  I filled it with pastel Easter eggs from JoAnn's.

I stamped the little tag with some bunnies and a sweet little chick, embellished it with yellow ric-rac and tiny millinery flowers, both from garage sales.

The best part of all was the angelic little pixie sitting among the eggs.  Alysa and I stole the idea from the talented Wendy at The Shabby Nest who had a tutorial for pixie making.  The darling little girl is actually my mom when she was a baby.  I gave her easter egg wings, a millinery flower wreath  for her hair, a vintage paper flower basket, and a daisy petal tutu.  Isn't she precious?  I have got to make one for myself!  I'll make Alysa make one too, and we'll show you when we're done.  Did you see our cupid pixies from Valentines Day?  We'll post those for you too.

Happy Birthday, Mom!  I love you.

  1. I love you too! And I love, love, LOVE my spring pixie jar. My, you are so good at taking hints, even as subtle as mine was.

I am really getting into this--I want to change the jar each season, and make pixies of my sweet babies, and Dad when he was a bambino. What fun!
